QuickBooks POS 10.0 Pro - How can I sell an item for different prices at different stores.

If you have more than 1 store, you may want to sell the same item for different prices. This is common, but the QuickBooks Point of Sale Pro likes to have the same price at all locations.

Here is how it can be done.

 

Edit the price of the items at the Headquarters:

1. In company preferences, change the Markdown % field to 0 for the custom price level you will use for the remote store:
1. Choose Edit > Preferences > Company (In QuickBooks POS Version 10 choose File > Preferences > Company).
2. Select Pricing.
3. Enter 0 in the Markdown % field for the custom price level that will be used for pricing at the remote store. All future items entered, after this change, will have the regular price of the Headquarters in that custom field.
2. To make it more efficient and easier to view and change prices in the custom price level on existing items, customize the columns in the Inventory Item List:
1. Choose Inventory > Item List.
2. Right-click on any column header and choose Customize Columns.
3. Select, from the Available Columns, the custom price level you will be using and click the Add button and click Save.
4. Drag the custom price column so that it is next to your Regular Price column.
3. Set the price for each existing item in inventory carried at the remote store:
1. Choose Inventory > Item List.
2. Click the Edit Item drop-down arrow at the top of the list and choose Turn List Edit On.
3. In the appropriate Custom Price column, change the price of each item, as needed, to reflect the selling price of that item in the remote store.
4. Click the Edit Item drop-down arrow at the top of the list and select Turn List Edit Off.
4. Choose Stores > Send Files.
5. At the remote store, after the Headquarters store exchange file has been received, choose Edit > Preferences > Company.
6. Select Pricing.
7. Click the Default Price drop-down arrow and select the custom price for the store. Click Save.
