How to fix it:

Before trying the fixes indicated by Intuit, try the following:

  2. On the Processes tab, select QBPOSShell and then click End Task.
  3. Drag your mouse to the lower-left corner, right-click the Start button and then choose File Explorer.

  5. In the left window, click Computer and go to: C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit\QBPOSShell.exe...\{last modified folder}
  6. Copy this folder to your desktop
  7. Inside the folder, there will be a user.config file. Rename the file to user.configold
