The Tucson Gem and Mineral show, considered the largest in the country, is in full swing. Even the abnormally low temperatures are not keeping the retailers from attending (Last night, Tucson broke a low temperature record with a low of 18 F, and a wind chill of 3, the old record of 21 F was established in 1910).
One product which is really making a splash there is the new GoPayment system. It allows retailers to process credit cards right through their cell phones. It works with a large variety of phones, and card swipe adapters are available to fit a number of needs.
Some retailers have recently seen commercials for the service, others are being introduced to it for the first time, but all are acknowledging the ease of use, excellent rates, and covenience of getting paid on the spot, as opposed to taking card information, returning to their business, and then processing the card to find out if it is good.
For anyone who works with the public, and away from their office, you have an easy and extremely affordable means to process cards in the field, and not be tied to a specialty wireless terminal, or a long term contract. Plus, you can download the payments into QuickBooks. We will keep you posted as the show progresses, but for now, GoPayment is the star!
